While I'm all for overhauling Memories -- especially so I'd be able to have a lot more of them before they start "falling off" (I hated how only a certain number of tagged posts would show up on "look for tags of X," which resulted in me both tagging and Memorying anything of mine that I wanted)... I'm not sure that I'm liking the description that you give of how it'd work. This may be that I don't understand the description -- I don't know the del.icio.us at all.
Or it may be that How I Use Memories isn't either orthogonal or opposed to this description. O:>
